Welcome to some of our latest “on the drawing board” works. With each project commission, Architecture Counsel (ACi) strives to find a creative design solution that responds sensitively and thoughtfully to each client’s unique history, values, program, and context. Regardless of building type or size, we design on a human scale, creating environments that endow people with a feeling of comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging.
ACi is currently redesigning a traditional Toronto row house to enhance comfort for its occupants, enabling the multi-generational family to stay in their home. The design accommodates the needs of family members who are becoming more physically dependent while also supporting the younger generation as they gain independence.
As part of the concept design for a new field house at an Ontario college, ACi was inspired by the Anishnaabe story of the Seven Grandfather Teachings to create seven moments in the landscape based on the lessons of wisdom, truth, humility, bravery, love, respect, and honesty. The overall design includes the field house, an outdoor classrooom/event space, and areas for recreational activities.
A leading Ontario college plans to construct a new flagship building designed to solidify its status as a global destination. ACi, in joint venture with Moriyama Teshima Architects, proposed a new centre that will serve as a hub, connecting academia with the community and industry.
